I receive many, many articles on a daily basis and have become quite accomplished in separating the wheat from the chaff. It is rare to come across an article of the calibre I received today though.
Investors Mutual is a well regarded Australian equities fund manger and release a newsletter, “Market Musings”. The latest edition, which can be found here, is written by their resource analyst Rob Bishop and provides an excellent description of the resources boom, the crash (my word, not his) and the possible outlook for resources.
The article is over seven pages long, but don’t let that deter you as I found it a captivating read. In typical Investors Mutual style, Bishop also addresses whether there is currently value to be found in the resource sector, especially in lieu of the chart at the top of this post which shows that the ASX Small Resources index is actually below GFC levels.
I hope you enjoy the read as much as I did.
